About Me

I love to explore the mysterious tapestry of life's experiences, and feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to do this in my role as a therapist. I have been working with clients since 2019, and have an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling. I am a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and have regular supervision. I am committed to ongoing professional development.

I have been interested in questions about happiness, suffering, meaning and purpose, and what is beyond the 'mundane' for many years. These questions led me to India in my early twenties, and to a silent retreat which altered the course of my life. I studied and practiced Insight Meditation in the Buddhist tradition for the best part of 20 years, including spending extended periods of time on silent retreat. I am more recently a student of the Diamond Approach, joining this school in 2017. I am inspired by how its teachings and inquiry practices cultivate deep curiosity about experience.

Training as an Integrative Counsellor meant that I could bring these interests into my work. I really appreciate how an integrative approach means that therapy can be tailored to each person - an organic response to you and your needs as they become apparent.

As well as working as a therapist, I also work at Gaia House, where I have had a long association. I currently work part-time developing the programme of retreats, and enjoy working in a place that feels very meaningful to me.

I am also a mother to a young and energetic daughter. I enjoy being in the woods, growing vegetables, walking in beautiful places, trips to the Scottish highlands and islands and wild swimming in cold water, when I feel brave enough!
